New Cuddle Swing – Joki Hanging “Crow’s Nest”

In October we are adding a new cuddle swing to our online store with a cute name “Crow’s Nest”. The Joki hanging crow’s nest is the perfect refuge for children aged three to nine. It has been a very busy summer for us. Due to union strike in Toronto, kids could not go to city-run camps and they kept us occupied. That is why we haven’t updated our blog for a while, but we have several announcements.

We have been asked numerous times if we have a large hammock chair that can be used as a therapy swing for children with autism. Decorating Kids’ Room

There are so many products and ideas to decorate a room for a newborn baby. Many parents spent months creating a perfect nursery room before the baby is born. And what happens when kids get older? Many of us are just caught in a cycle of shopping for more and more storage for toys. And in time gorgeous nursery rooms transform into huge toy chests. But if we look around there are plenty of products on market that can help us to create beautiful and functional kids’ rooms.

Helping Autistic Children with their Associations

As our company grow we learn even more about use of our products from our customers and bloggers who review our products. Recently DreamGYM was mention in “Doing It The Phys Ed Way” blog in the article “Battling Autism”. According to the author DreamGYM Therapy Gym is a great tool in helping autistic children with their associations. It keeps children with autism physically active enabling them to burn off excess energy, thus in return allowing them to concentrate on particular tasks. Doorway Swing

We have added a new product to our online store – Doorway Swing – every child’s dream. This indoor swing is a great solution for a home where there is either not enough space for a full jungle gym, or our solutions for small spaces do not work due to installation difficulties. Most places have a doorway that can be turned into Doorway Swing or Mini Jungle Gym.

DreamGYM Doorway Swing kit includes a chrome plated support bar with padded grips. The weight capacity for the bar is 210 lbs, therefore parents can exercise too. It adjusts to fit most standard width door frames from 28″ to 36″. The Doorway Swing kit also includes mounting hardware, two hanging straps and two spring clips to make switching different accessories easier. We also included a trapeze bar with rings, because it is one of the favorite swing set accessories. Children can somersault, swing, twist.

A day at Harbourfront Centre

Today we spent the whole day at a The Toronto International Circus Festival at Harbourfront Centre, Toronto, ON.
It was great to see so many talented people.

Our boys were lucky to get a special treatment from “Balloon Master”. She have created in few minutes costume of “Dragon” for older son and “Knight” for his little brother. Thank you very much whoever you are.

The real “mind twister” for adults was a “The Rice Show”. They present “The Americas” show. On a show you see a piles of rice grains. Each grain represents one person that belongs to this group. For me most notable were following groups:
- The Population of Canada (30+ million grains);
- The Population of USA (300+ million grains);
- McDonald’s customers in the world each day in 2008;
- Canadian People Registered as Clinically Obese, 2007;

Cuddle Swing

The Cuddle Swing Arsalooly has arrived this week.  My children and their friends were happy to test it and they loved it. It is made of high quality stretching fabric (92% cotton and 8% lycra) and has soft, natural feel. The cuddle swing gives children experience of being in a cocoon providing womb-like safety and comfort. The Cuddle Swing is also recommended by occupational therapists for children with autism to help stimulate child’s vestibular system, and to give deep touch pressure. Arsalooly cuddle swing has a four-way stretch and you will not get bagging in highly stressed areas.

Arsalooly swing provides many opportunities for children, they can swing, spin, bounce or just relax. You can hang it outside on a thick tree brunch or inside from the ceiling or in a doorway (Note: if you are going to use this cuddle swing in a doorway, attach it in two places to minimize bumping into a door frame).

After a day of playing outside and kids popping into the cuddle swing without taking shoes off it needed to be washed. So we washed it in a machine and it again looked like brand new. Arsasooly swing is machine washable.  Machine drying is acceptable, but as with all cotton fabrics, it is recommended to hang for drying.

It is made of stretching soft fabric (92% cotton, 8% lycra). It is machine washable and can be used indoors and outdoors. I can’t wait for my kids to try it. The therapy swing will be available in different colors: navy blue, red, green, lavender.

The cuddle swing will give children experience of being in a cocoon, it will provide a feeling of womb-like safety and comfort. Children will really enjoy bouncing and spinning or relaxing in this cuddle hammock swing.
